FESCO Transportation Group (“FESCO”, the “Group”) will provide financial support to the Far Eastern Federal University and the Tretyakov Gallery to launch a master’s program in Museum studies.
The program will start in September 2021 and will be taught by professors of the School of Arts and Humanities of the Far Eastern Federal University and curators of the Tretyakov Gallery. They will give 14 courses of lectures on different subjects varying from the history of Russian art to marketing and fundraising in museums. Some subjects will focus on art digitalization tools.
The educational program will be done in mixed attendance mode: the lectures will be partly held online, partly on campus on Russky Island. Moreover, students will have an opportunity to undertake an internship in Moscow or in the regional cultural institutions of the Far East. After graduation, the students can be included in the talent pool of the Tretyakov Gallery’s branch in Vladivostok.
“This joint academic program of FESCO, the Tretyakov Gallery and FEFU will help to create new career opportunities for Primorye citizens, as well as to unlock the potential of the regional tourism and thus stimulate the economic development. Under the facilitation of museums and other cultural institutions, the local community will be able to engage in the domestic cultural and historical heritage and use it as a powerful tool for solving social and economic problems,” noted Ekaterina Grishkovets, Vice President for External Relations of FESCO.
