FESCO launching the second “Sea of opportunities” social projects contest for solving pressing social problems of Primorye

10 February 2021
FESCO Transportation Group (“FESCO”) is launching the “Sea of opportunities” social projects contest (the “Contest”) for the second time. It is a part of the program for support and development of the local community under the Group’s strategy of corporate and social responsibility.
50 applications in total were submitted in 2020, 32 projects were approved and implemented including 15 volunteer projects, funding for which in total amounted to almost 8 million rubles.

The contest is aimed at establishing a partnership between business, authorities and society to find solutions to the most pressing social problems of Primorye. Socially oriented NPOs, government and municipal institutions and volunteers among FESCO employees are invited to participate. Organizations can apply for a grant of up to 250 000 rubles, volunteers’ grant is not more than 50 000 rubles.

Razvitiye Autonomous Nonprofit Organization is going to be the operator of the contest once again. Its experts will help the participants with their applications, conduct training sessions and provide further support during the implementation of the projects.

Terms and conditions of participation in the contest can be found in the Provisions of the Contest published on the official websites of FESCO Group and Razvitiye Autonomous Nonprofit Organization.

“It is important not only to help resolve the pressing social problems by simply offering the expertise and resources but to give people a chance to prioritize by themselves and acquire useful experience and knowledge in the first place. This is the only way to ensure truly sustainable development,” said Ekaterina Grishkovets, Vice President for external relations of FESCO.
“The results we had last year show us that the initiative is much needed in the Primorye region. Receiving 50 applications in the first contest was a great success. It is also important that the contest, as it is becoming a regular initiative, helps to spread best practices and develop systemic forms of resolving and preventing social problems in the region,” said Svetlana Bazhenova, General Director of Razvitiye Autonomous Nonprofit Organization.
