Commercial Port of Vladivostok (the "Port", part of FESCO Transportation Group) has set an overtime record on cargo volumes handled: for 11 months 2017 the Port has handled more than 7 mln tons of various cargos.
Commercial Port of Vladivostok is the only multipurpose port in the Russian Far East. The Port handles all types of general and bulk cargos, as well as containers, oil products, cars, heavy-duty vehicles, OOG cargos and heavy-lifts.
In 2017, the Port has demonstrated an overall increase of cargo turnover. Total volume of general cargos handled for 11 months this year has grown by 39%, containers jumped by 43%, cars and heavy-duty vehicles – by 71% compared to the same period 2016.
By the end of the year 2017 the cargo volume handled at the Port is expected to reach its maximum – 7.2 mln tons – marking the busiest year ever in the Port’s 120-year history.
“There are no limitations for further Port development and cargo turnover increase. In 2017, we have proved that we are moving in the right direction and have already reached excellent results. Next year we are planning to continue pursuing existing priorities including modernization and replacement of the equipment, boosting the services on freight forwarding and LCL shipments, launching new block trains in cooperation with other FESCO's divisions, and attraction of new shipping lines to the Port”, said Zairbek Yusupov, the Port CEO and FESCO's Vice President for port division.
Moreover, in 2018 the Port will offer its customers the full range of services on 24/7 Customs clearance at the port site and reduce cargo transit time to 1-2 days.
