Commercial Port of Vladivostok and port Fushiki-Toyama (Japan) signed an agreement on international and foreign economic relations

Commercial Port of Vladivostok (part of FESCO Transportation Group) and port Fushiki-Toyama (Japan) signed an agreement on international and foreign economic relations, cooperation and experience exchange. Both parties will attempt to promote economic development of Primorsky region and Toyama prefecture, facilitate their capacity utilization by main consignors, consignees, vessels owning companies and shipping forwarders in Russia and Japan.

Signing of the agreement is timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of twinning and partnering relations between the ports. The document was signed by director of Operations department in Commercial Port of Vladivostok, Mr. Sergey Simanikhin and Mr. Kato Syoetsu, head of Civil engineering department in Toyama prefecture. 

The agreement is mainly aimed to provide increase in cargo turnover between the ports. The parties reaffirmed their interest in involvement of additional cargo traffic for the Trans-Siberian Railway rout through Vladivostok. This document will allow to broaden bilateral contacts in modernization of handling operations, infrastructure construction and rail transportation as well.
