01 June 2021

31 social projects have won in the 2nd “Sea of opportunities” contest (hereinafter – the “Contest”) organized by FESCO Transportation Group (“FESCO”, the “Group”): 11 projects of FESCO volunteers and 20 projects of non-profit organizations and institutions of the Primorye Territory.

In total 64 applications were submitted this year versus 50 applications last year. The applications focused on various topics, such as support of children and adults with special health needs, animal protection, development of tourism in Primorye. The winners can implement their projects until 1 December 2021. Organizations will be awarded grants of up to RUB 250 000, volunteers will get up to RUB 50 000. This year organizations not only from Vladivostok but from all over the region could apply to take part in the contest.

The “Sea of opportunities” contest is one of the key elements of the program for support and development of the local community implemented within the strategy of the corporate social responsibility of FESCO Group. It is aimed at establishing a partnership between business, authorities and society to find solutions to the most pressing social problems of Primorye. The operator of the contest is Razvitiye Autonomous Nonprofit Organization. Its experts helped the participants to prepare their applications, conducted training sessions and will provide further support during the implementation of the projects.

“We are glad that people are showing more and more interest in the Contest. We will continue to work closely with all stakeholders and carefully explore the impact of the contest on the local community to maximize the efficiency of our social investments. We wish the winners every success in implementing their projects,” said Ekaterina Grishkovets, FESCO vice-president for external relations.

“This year the geographical coverage of the Contest was expanded as the interest in it is growing. We are testing new formats of interaction with participants, bringing in external experts, improving the educational part of the Contest. We hope that the Contest will allow us to implement dozens of important and valuable social projects but also gradually allow the organizations and institutions of Primorye to accumulate enough experience and skills to apply to bigger contests, for example, the Presidential Grants Fund,” said Svetlana Bazhenova, general director of Razvitiye Autonomous Nonprofit Organization.
